A small team of athletes flew across to London to represent NIMAA at the annual Inter Area Indoor Track and Field event at the superb Lee Valley indoor athletics complex.
It was the first time since 2017 that Northern Ireland had a team present. Competition was extremely tough with eight other teams from the different regional associations of England and a team from Wales.
Most of the NI athletes took the early morning flight across and returned the same evening. Teams aim to cover as many events as possible with points awarded to all finishers. The NI team done multiple events to add to their total and the seven strong team accumulated a total of 63 points. Next year it is hoped many more athletes will take the opportunity to represent the association, which will ensure a much greater haul of points.
